Acceptable use policy

Effective date: 6 October 2026. Paid plans are not on sale yet. Questions: legal@vott.work.

This policy is part of the Vott Terms of Service. It applies to everything you do with Vott: what you put in, what you ask AI employees to produce, and what you do with the result. Some of these rules exist because the providers whose models power Vott require them of everyone who builds on their technology.

If you are unsure whether something is allowed, ask us at support@vott.work before you do it.

1. Follow the law

Do not use Vott to break the law or to help anyone else break it — including laws on consumer protection, privacy and data protection, intellectual property, anti-spam, sanctions and export controls.

2. Be honest about AI

  • Never pass an AI employee off as a person. Do not use an AI employee, or its voice, face, name or video, to make anyone believe they are dealing with a real human being.
  • No deepfakes or impersonation. Do not use Vott to create content that depicts a real, identifiable person saying or doing something they did not say or do, or to impersonate any person or organisation — including public figures, our team and other customers.
  • Keep the labels on. Do not remove, hide or alter any label, watermark or provenance information that marks content as AI-generated.
  • Label what you share. If you share content from Vott that shows or sounds like an AI employee — screenshots, recordings, clips — label it as AI-generated.
  • No fake reviews. Do not use Vott to write fake reviews, testimonials or endorsements, or to pose as a customer, voter or member of the public.

3. Content you may not create or request

Do not use Vott to create, request or distribute:

  • sexual content involving minors, in any form — we report it to the competent authorities;
  • sexually explicit content of any kind — Vott is not an adult service;
  • any sexual, intimate or "nudified" depiction of a real person;
  • content that threatens, harasses or bullies anyone, or incites violence or hatred against people because of who they are;
  • content that encourages or instructs suicide, self-harm or eating disorders;
  • content that promotes terrorism or violent extremism;
  • instructions for making or acquiring weapons capable of mass harm — biological, chemical, nuclear or radiological — or explosives and firearms;
  • malware, ransomware, exploits or other tools designed to compromise systems you do not own or are not authorised to test;
  • phishing, scams, fraud, or deceptive or manipulative schemes;
  • coordinated disinformation, or material designed to interfere with elections or civic processes.

4. Other people and their data

  • Only share what you are allowed to share. Put personal data about other people into Vott only if you have a lawful basis to do so and it is needed for your task. Be especially careful with health data, biometric data, government identifiers, financial account details, information about sexual life or orientation, religion, political opinions, criminal records, and any data about children.
  • No surveillance. Do not use Vott to track, monitor, profile, identify or locate people, or to compile information about individuals.
  • No emotion recognition or biometric categorisation. Do not use Vott to infer people's emotions, or to identify or categorise people from biometric data.
  • No decisions about people's lives. Do not use Vott to make, or materially support, decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on individuals — about employment, credit, insurance, housing, education, healthcare, immigration, law enforcement or access to essential services — and do not use it for social scoring.

5. Advice and safety-critical uses

  • Not a substitute for a professional. Do not rely on Vott for medical, legal, financial, tax or other professional advice — for yourself or for others — without review by a qualified professional.
  • Not for safety-critical systems. Do not use Vott where a failure or an error could lead to death, injury or serious physical or environmental damage, such as in medical devices, vehicles, critical infrastructure or emergency services.

6. Minimum age

Vott is a work tool for people aged 18 and over. Do not let anyone under 18 use your account, and do not put children in conversation with an AI employee.

7. Messages and spam

Do not use Vott, or anything it produces, to send spam, unsolicited bulk messages, or messages that break anti-spam or telemarketing laws.

8. Intellectual property

  • Do not upload content you do not have the right to use, and do not use Vott to infringe or misappropriate anyone's copyright, trademark, trade secrets, privacy or publicity rights.
  • Do not use Vott, or its Output, to develop or train AI models that compete with Vott or with the models of the providers that power it.
  • Do not use Vott to clone a real person's voice or recreate a real person's likeness. Vott does not offer voice cloning or custom likenesses, and you must not try to get around that.

9. Protect the Service and other customers

  • Do not access, or try to access, other customers' accounts, data or conversations.
  • Do not probe, scan or test the security of the Service. If you believe you have found a vulnerability, report it to security@vott.work and give us a reasonable time to fix it before you disclose it.
  • Do not overload or disrupt the Service, or get around its rate limits, allowances, usage caps or security measures — including by opening extra accounts.
  • Do not access the Service with bots, scrapers or other automated means, except through interfaces we provide for that purpose.
  • Do not try to extract our system instructions, prompts, model details or internal tools, and do not use jailbreaks or prompt injection to make an AI employee break this policy.
  • Do not resell or sublicense access to the Service, or share your account outside your organisation.

10. Reporting and enforcement

  • Report misuse to support@vott.work and security issues to security@vott.work.
  • If we believe this policy has been broken, we may refuse or stop generating content, remove content, limit features, or suspend or close the account, as section 11 of the Terms describes. Where the law requires it, we report illegal content to the competent authorities.
  • We may update this policy. Material changes follow section 15 of the Terms.
